Dubstep: “Exodus (feat Mimi Page)” by Phrenik

"Illuminate"

Pretty heavy track coming from Phrenik, great use of vocals, although I felt that the synth was a bit overused at times, the track is still quality, figured some of you might enjoy this one. Make sure you support Phrenik on his page and on Beatport if you enjoy his tracks!

Dubstep: “Black And Yellow (Remix)” by Big Gigantic

How have I not posted this one yet? Anyway, problem solved now. Not much to say other than this remix will make your bass put in some work, looking forward to when Big Gigantic drops the “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” remix, hopefully soon. Enjoy!

Glitch: “Beyond Monday” by The Glitch Mob

As I mentioned on our Facebook, the original track has seen a recent boost in popularity due to it being featured in a DMC trailer, even though that song is nearly 2 years old. Not that anyone minds, this self-made remix by the Glitch Mob entitled “Beyond Monday” is just another example of the talent that the group has, even when it comes to remixing their own songs! I’m glad to see electronic tracks breaking into more mainstream mediums, and I hope it is a trend that continues.

Electronic: “Prettyshaker” by Sugarpill

pixel portrait [the exploration of a pixel]

Crazy 8-bit feel to this track, the intro leaves you wondering what the hell you are listening too, but things pick up if you give the track some time, and it ends up being an enjoyable (if a bit weird) experience. Make sure you show Sugarpill some love on his Facebook and check out more of his stuff if you enjoyed this, definitely a distinct sound, but also a really memorable one.

Electronic: “Waveshift” by Michal Menert

If you’ve been following my posts on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll know that I’ve been anxiously awaiting the new Michal Menert album, that got delayed this summer due to Michal losing some of his early tracks for the album. I’m trying to keep my own interest (and yours!) alive by reminding you of what quality, chill stuff this guy puts out. So go check out his album “Dreaming Of A Bigger” life and let’s hope Menert gets that album done!

Electronic: “Kaya Project (Remix)” by Opiuo

The Wall, Blackrock, Dublin, Ireland

Another great track by an artist I’ve enjoyed following, Opiuo. Goofy name to remember, but some excellent tracks. Love the mix of string instruments and the bassline of this song, definitely something you can nod your head and chill out to. Hit him up on his Facebook and show some love.

Glitch: “Drive It Like You Stole It (Cryptex Remix)” by The Glitch Mob

Coachella

Great remix from a talented young glitch-hop producer, I believe this to be one of my favorite variations of this now classic track by The Glitch Mob. Great use of the sounds in the original, and a great take on the melody, the song is clearly a tribute yet it definitely has it’s own distinct sound. All I can say is that I look forward to the new EP to be released by Cryptex, you can learn more about it on his Facebook.

Electronic: “Face Of God EP” by R/D

A simply great EP from the up and comer himself, definitely one of the EPs where he “discovered” his now current sound, a huge difference from the Cricket EP. The warm tones and the deep bass definitely are a signature, but this track mixes that up a little bit, with the rest of the album containing more of that signature sound. But enough talk, download for yourself and let the tracks do the talking.

Electronic: “Could Just Be The Bassline” by Artful

tog69_25

Really unique track, loved the vocals (the original version has a male voice, both fitting, but I enjoyed this one more) and the music itself is bound to get stuck in your head. Looking forward to hearing more from Artful, I’m glad to see electronic artists working with singers on songs that don’t come out too “clubbish”, if that makes any sense. Overall just a well done track.

Dubstep: “Last Friday Night (Dalvee Dubstep Remix)” by Katy Perry

Katy Perry Blend

I haven’t been able to get a hold of Dalvee, but I was looking to post another submission and someone submitted this on his behalf, and let’s just say that when I read the title I was doubtful… but ended up being pretty surprised, this is catchy and includes all of the appropriate dubstep elements without being ridiculous. I know some people might think it too close to the original, or lacking a “sick drop”, but I found myself nodding my head as is, so nice work, enjoy!
