Electronic: “Give Up The Ghost (Remix)” by R/D

Originally a classic by Radiohead, it has been redone PROPER by the very talented and highly underrated R/D. Since his name pretty much makes it impossible to find his site (somebody teach this guy about SEO!) I’ll give you the link to R/D’s homepage here and you can grab this free download directly below, or from his site and SoundCloud.

Electronic: “Runaway” by Beats Antique

Beats Antique praises

From the recently released and amazing Blind Threshold album, Beats Antique gets back into their truly unique and cultural sound with this entire song and entire album entry. Experimenting in almost anything imaginable, the group truly shines when they do this particular sound in my opinion, it’s unlike any other group I’ve heard and always leaves me wanting to hear more.

Electronic: “So Much For Love” by Gramatik

Gramatik

It seems that yet another talented artist has been signed to Pretty Lights Music. He goes by the stage name of Gramatik and as can be seen by this free track released for his upcoming album, he has some serious talent. This debut has a funk infused electronic sound akin to all of the members on the now established label, and being surrounded by such talent can only be a good thing for Gramatik’s future.

Glitch: “Lollipop Remix” by The Glitch Mob

Halloween @ The Fillmore

Definitely one of the funnest remixes from the talented LA based trio, and probably one of my all time favorites. Also one of the tracks I usually use to introduce people to electronic music, as it is simply a banging remix of a song most people will recognize, and serves as a good example of what talented producers like edIT, Boreta, and Ooah are capable of.

The 10 Greatest Video Game Remixes Of All Time

Video game music is an unfortunately overlooked realm of music, given that most of it’s audience are gamers who encounter the music through the games in which it is featured.

To me this is a shame, because I believe video game music to contain some of the most unique and memorable tunes out there.

This is a top 10 collection of some of the best offerings from OCRemix.

Glitch: “Crush Mode Mixtape” by The Glitch Mob

All the way back from ’09 The Glitch Mob was have been making monster mixtapes, and this one is definitely the cream of the crop. Over 40 minutes of tracks from each member, which at the time included edIT, Boreta, Ooah, and Kraddy, the “Crush Mode” mixtape is one of the albums that stays true to the “glitch” style of the Glitch Mob, as the group has seemingly moved to a different sound in their latest Drink The Sea album.

Electronic: “Finally Moving” by Pretty Lights

Pretty Lights @ the AMP

This post is practically a necessity for a blog about electronic music, an absolute beauty of a track by Pretty Lights, and arguably one of his many great songs that put him on the map. Fun fact: the song samples Judy Clay and William Bell’s “Private Number”, definitely a PL style to implement an older track and make it into a modern electronic classic. This is probably a song that gets a lot of newcomers into the genre if I had to guess, and as usual you can now grab it for a free DL (thanks to Pretty Lights and his giving away of his awesome music).

Dubstep: “Fifteen Floors” by Balthazar (Noah D Remix)

DJ

Before I begin, let me just say that the above picture had me laughing pretty good, look at that face haha. Anyway, here comes a new track from rising talent Noah D, and this darker, dubstep oriented remix is definitely something he is quite good at. Released only a few days ago, I predict that we might have a SoundCloud hit on our hands, as although it is a bit repetitive, the distinct attitude of the song is something that is likely to attract a lot of plays.

Glitch: “Monday (Glitch Mob Remix)” by Nalepa

I believe this track was recently featured in a DMC trailer and has picked up even more interest as of late, so I figured now would be a great time to hand out the free download for the track. Released for free by The Glitch Mob, this is a glitched out remix of Nalepa’s “Monday”, and is one of The Glitch Mob’s most well known songs, understandably, as it brings a lot of energy and has enough substance for a dance track to be really hard to hate.

Dubstep: “Wicked Games (Remix)” by SPL & Sugarpill

[Track] The Weeknd feat. Donnis - Loft Music
Wicked Games (SPL Remix) PREVIEW by SPL

Wicked Games (Sugarpill’s Slippery Souldbass Remix) by sugarpill

Two remixes for you today, both off of the same track “Wicked Games” by The Weeknd, who seems to have blown up this… weekend, because both of these remixes came out a day apart. The first one is a monster track by SPL, and it’s not even finished! Sugarpill brings his own style to the table with his remix, and is definitely a more mellow interpretation of the track, but both of them are solid and do the original justice and then some.
