Released for free download by The Glitch Mob, this is actually a solo effort by edIT, who is one talented artist in his own right. Known for his individual work long before his joining with The Glitch Mob, edIT has been a true visionary and leader in the electronic genre, especially the subgenre of glitch, where his first album “Crying Over Prose For No Reason” is consider one of the genre’s best.

Fresh from his showing in Bonnaroo, this is a studio version of a tracked that PL released as an amazing video on his YouTube channel. Following his unexpected mash-up featuring Radiohead/Nirvana/NIN, this aggressive track comes as another showcase of a new style for Pretty Lights, one that combines the fast paced vibe known for pleasing concert crowds, with enough thought put into the melody that you know it’s another future smash from this talented producer.
Wow, just an absolute monster track from Kraddy’s upcomoing album ‘Anthems For The Hero’, get excited. Some cool news on the subject, Kraddy’s management teams suggested they send over a full copy for me to review before it’s release, which is October 10, so definitely look for that! The review will be sent out early via our electronic music newsletter. Otherwise enjoy this second free download from the album, I hate the word “epic” but it does well to describe this track.
Awesome track from Ooah made available for free on The Glitch Mob’s SoundCloud page (SoundCloud is down at the moment though), features a great sounding sample and a interesting feel for an Ooah track. Known for his versatile production skills, he makes a solid addition to The Glitch Mob crew, and as shown here, easily shines on his solo productions.

The realization that I hadn’t posted anything from the ‘Making Up A Changing Mind’ EP was a bummer, so let’s fix that! Somewhat of a collaboration between Derek (Pretty Lights) and Michal Menert, you can definitely hear the influence of both, despite it being a prominently Pretty Lights album. My absolute favorite track is the incredibly soulful “Understand Me Now” (featured above), and I think it is a great example of the depths that electronic music can take, for the uninformed, it’s not all party music!
Dubstep: “Syndicate” by Skrillex
Like it or not, this is some really clever promotion. Targeting “gamers” is probably one of the smartest moves Skrillex can make, and on the flipside, promoting a new game with a popular artist doing the main theme is good for the game’s promotion as well. And so “Syndicate” was born, a new track by Skrillex, and a new game by Electronic Arts. Fortunately for music fans… it’s actually pretty good! Marketing techniques aside, I enjoyed this track, and better yet, it’s up for free via the Facebook page (I got the direct download for you).

Can’t believe I haven’t posted this one yet! It came out around the time of the “Get Em High” remix, another banger by Big Gigantic, this one has a different sound but is just as upbeat and catchy as the former. Unfortunately for all of us, the download link on Dom’s SoundCloud is down, meaning he doesn’t want it available for download just yet. My solution to this has been to suggest you join our electronic music newsletter, which I will use to email you the download link as soon as it is available.
One of the most intriguing electronic acts out there, I’ve posted about them before covering the “Collide” album and the “All I Want Is You” remix. This is a new track off of their “Elektrafone” album. Their distinct sound is reminiscent of “Arabian” music (forgive me if I’m describing this incorrectly) and it has a very unique and even ethnic flavor to it, utilizing a lot of sounds few electronic artists ever go near. Combined with their strange but incredibly entertaining live show, it’s definitely a group that stands out.
Another great album release by PLM in the same day, this one comes from SuperVision. I’ve featured “Arcane” by SuperVision before, as that was a preview track for this album, and let me just say that from that song I expected a lot, and was definitely not let down. This track brings a lot of soul, definitely reminiscent of the talent found in PLM’s other artists Gramatik. Overall an excellent album, and at the price of free, you can’t go wrong.

Another great release from an artists on the Pretty Lights Music label, I was able to feature an earlier release of this album before, specifically “Daydream” by Paul Basic.
Not much more I can say about this album other than it has a certain grimey aspect combined with the soulful production you’d expect from any artist on PLM. Go download it now and make sure to show a little love! (Share, donate, whatever you can do)
