Real funky stuff coming from the electronic group Karate, I would definitely recommend checking out their BandCamp, where they provide a ton of free, excellent tracks that are original and really well done (FLAC downloads for all, nice!).

Quite the unusual name, quite an usual song. I didn’t really know what to classify this as, but it is definitely a very memorable and unique track, and in all honesty, one of the few tracks where I enjoyed the build-up more than the actual drop. I’ve posted about Vexare before, and this just shows that this young artist (and this very German sounding Katzenwaffe, ha, I have no idea) are bringing a lot of new talent to the scene. Enjoy!

Electronic: “Daydream” by Paul Basic
Another essential post, the PLM camp keeps making me talk about them, sorry if it has been overkill this week, but I’m sure you’ll agree they just keep putting out solid stuff! This tracks come to us from new sign-on Paul Basic, and just like the track by SuperVision that was posted yesterday, it hints of even bigger things to come. Overall a great remix, and has me excited for the impending album.
Electronic: “Arcane” by SuperVision
New artist on the Pretty Lights Music label, as as expected, not only does this teaser track not disappoint, it also foreshadows the big things to come. I’m now excited for this entire album because of this track, so that’s saying a lot. Another big tack to come out of the PLM camp is “Daydream” by Paul Basic, which I’m tempted to post as well because it is also solid. The PLM label is making moves this year, and with Menert’s album ready to drop at any time, it’s not over.
Simply put, a great mix. Virtual Boy has quite the distinctive sound, really akin to the name, it’s a retro video game vibe mixed with modern electro. This mix has it all and more, a lot of variety, good pacing, and a great sound. Best of all, it is a free mix with a lot of music, over 30 minutes worth. Enjoy!
Moombahton seems to be taking the electronic genre by storm, and I’m going to be honest, what I’ve liked out of that camp has been few and far in between. However, some tracks are just too damn catchy, and as this genre “matures”, I feel like we will see better quality stuff coming out of producers into this sound, such as the great mixes (IMO) that Dillon Francis puts out, notably Beautician 2.0 and a few others. Enjoy!
Another big track from a huge artist in the genre, sampling an even bigger artist in another genre… sounds good already, before you even press play. Luckily the music is as well done as the hype for this song should demand it be. It is a different track to be sure, but if you enjoyed Derek’s interpretation of NIN vs. Nirvana vs. Radiohead, than this track should be right up your alley.
How have I not posted this one yet? Anyway, problem solved now. Not much to say other than this remix will make your bass put in some work, looking forward to when Big Gigantic drops the “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” remix, hopefully soon. Enjoy!

Crazy 8-bit feel to this track, the intro leaves you wondering what the hell you are listening too, but things pick up if you give the track some time, and it ends up being an enjoyable (if a bit weird) experience. Make sure you show Sugarpill some love on his Facebook and check out more of his stuff if you enjoyed this, definitely a distinct sound, but also a really memorable one.
If you’ve been following my posts on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll know that I’ve been anxiously awaiting the new Michal Menert album, that got delayed this summer due to Michal losing some of his early tracks for the album. I’m trying to keep my own interest (and yours!) alive by reminding you of what quality, chill stuff this guy puts out. So go check out his album “Dreaming Of A Bigger” life and let’s hope Menert gets that album done!
