Something a little different from the usual, but I thought Omega put forth a great effort on this track, and I definitely love the sample (10 points to Slytherin if you can name it). The build up is nice, and although it doesn’t have a traditional drop, the pacing of the song was excellent, although certain sections got a little repetitive in my opinion. Overall, a solid track and I think that you’ll enjoy it.
A few of you might not get the picture, if not, it’s because the sample is this song is originally from a SNES game called ‘Killer Instinct’, besides that, this is a great track all around, and I figured I had to share. Originally meant to be an official release, this was released for free due to copyright clearance issues (the sample from Killer Instinct perhaps being one of them). So you get to grab it for free, as well as two other tracks on SoundCloud, link as always is below.

If you love the cultural sound of Beats Antique, then I have some good news for you: they recently released their entire “Collide” album up for free download, so if you need your fill of this unique sound, get ready for a great download. Honestly, nothing quite compares to the stuff that comes out of the Beats Antique studio, it can be a love/hate type of sound, but if you are the type of person that loves it, then you will also love this album.

Gramatik is an artist formerly on the Pretty Lights Music label, and here’s his first release on the label. Wow. Simply amazing stuff, glad to post and spread the word, I could go on and on about how this is one of the best debut’s I’ve heard in a while, but I’d rather you download it and see for yourself.

Second free album DL of the week comes to us from Big Gigantic, who I don’t mind featuring in two posts back to back, because the music is just that good. If you’ve been on the site before, you know the drill from these guys: funky beats infused with a killer sax, always upbeat and always well put together, 2011 might end up being their year, here’s hoping we continue to see solid work from Dom and his saxophone skills.

Been waiting for a new Big Gigantic track to drop, I always, always look forward to Dom’s stuff, one of the most talented up and coming talents in the genre, bar none. This song is no disappointment: catchy, upbeat, perfect release for summer really, props to Dom for this track, and I’m anxiously waiting for the 320 download.
A fantastic remix from the “Peaceblaster” remix album put together by STS9, this is probably one of my favorite tracks off of an album that features artists like Pretty Lights, Ronald Jenkees, Big Gigantic, and STS9 as well, so it’s saying a lot. The Glitch Mob really brought a fresh perspective for this track, and dare I say I think I actually like it more than the original, it’s definitely great work so download it for yourself.
I would definitely call this one of Pretty Light’s most “debated” tracks ever released. The debate arises over using the Notorious BIG in a remix, people are always sensitive when Biggie is involved, as his music is important to a lot of people. Me? I think this song does a very talented MC justice, and you have to give PL credit for bringing a very enjoyable vibe.

R/D always seems to deliver high quality, and highly surreal remixes, he has an interesting taste in music and his adaptations of these tracks in these remixes really show how much talent he’s got, and some of the great things we can likely expect from him in the future. It is a distinct sound to be sure, but for those that enjoy it, you can seem to find anyone quite like R/D.
